Term 1, Week 5

Hi Parents and students, Welcome to another week! I hope you had a great weekend and everyone is well rested. Affirmation of the Week: Swimming Carnival: Congratulations to Sienna and Sam for an outstanding display in the pool last Thursday. Well done also to Bede and Mia for their runner-up efforts and to all the Year 6’s for their leadership on the day. Literacy: Under this section you will find the literacy learning intentions for the week. CAFÉ-R (Traits of good readers) Due to the interruptions last week, we will continue to practise the different roles required during our ‘literature circles’. We will also focus on two comprehension strategies.  Summarising  focuses on the story elements such as the beginning, middle and end. Inferring  is when readers combine what is read with relevant prior knowledge. If readers can read between the lines, they can get a better understanding of the text. Hi Parents and students, Week 4 already! I hope you had a great weekend… We have an extra busy week this week with two days spent at the pool and the school’s opening mass taking place on Friday. Could possibly be some tired kids this week? Affirmation of the Week: Class Reps: Thank you to all of you that made it to the Parent Information Night and those of you that sent in your apologies. A big applause can still be heard for Emma Buxcey, Mandy Bate and Richard Clark for volunteering to be the class reps for 2018. All round nice guy, Adrian Torrese was quoted as saying, “More than happy to lend a helping hand when required.” Opening Mass: The opening mass will begin at 9:00am at the church. The badges for the leadership team and the sports captains will be blessed and presented to the students. We hope to see as many of you there as possible. Swimming Time Trials: The swimming time trials for year’s 4, 5 and 6 will take place on Tuesday in Busselton.

Hi Parents and students, Welcome to Week 3! With 2 weeks already down and our swimming lessons now complete, I officially declare the Year Six Class, open for business! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are ready for a busy week ahead. Below you will find some important information, upcoming events and learning intentions for the week. Affirmation of the Week: Parent Information Night: I hope to see you all on Tuesday evening for the Year 6 Information Night. The evening will begin at 5:00pm in the hall . Classroom sessions will start at 5:30pm . Please make your way to the Year 6 classroom as swiftly as possible. If you are unsure where the Year 6 classroom is, look for the room with a view J Ash Wednesday: This Wednesday signifies the beginning of Lent.
